Popsicle Stick Bridge Competition

Welcome Bridge Builders to the Annual Popsicle Stick Bridge Competition Season!

We have our annual Popsicle Stick Bridge Competition for highschool students coming up this saturday March 14th! This hands-on engineering challenges gives students the opportunity to design, built and test a bridge using only popsicle sticks and glue. On contest day, bridges will be loaded to see if any are left standing!
No prior engineering experience is required. Just creativity, teamwork and curiosity.

Competition Shedule
8:00am - Registration Opens
8:15am - Technical Judging begins
8:45am - Registration Closes - Please arrive by 8:45am!
9:30am - Presentations begin
10:00am - Bridge Breaking begins with trivia & guest presentations interspersed 
Approximately 12:30, prizes and awards
Conclude about 1pm.

Scholarship for High School Students: Due June 1, 2026

We are no longer accepting Popsicle Stick Bridge Competition sponsors for 2026. However, other sponsorship opportunities are still available.

Frequently Asked Questons

  • Students neednot be ASCE members but coorporate participants needs to be ASCE members.

  • The competition is held in Museum of Flights, Seattle on 14th of March 2026.

  • Maximum number of people in a group is limited to 4.

  • No maxmum limit. A school can bring as many teams as they want. But registration of individual teams are necessaray.

  • Yes home schoolers are welcome to participate but every group should register for the competition.

  • The bridge needs to be made beforehand and the completed bridge needs to be brought to the location on the day of competition

  • You can be creative with your bridge but only use the materials specified in the rule book.
